Universities of applied sciences: What happens after graduation?
![]() | The university of plied sciences diploma is a university degree and allows admission to a course at any university or one of the Federal Institutes of Technology (ETH). It also enables admission to a corresponding study course abroad. When the bilateral treaties of 1 June 2002 come into effect, the graduate of a university of applied sciences (FH) will basically be entitled to take on jobs governed by EU regulations. |
In 2003, 51.7% of the graduates of a university of applied sciences (FH) were successful in gaining employment within three months after graduation. One year after graduating from the universities of applied sciences (FH), the jobless quota was 8.1%.
Post-diploma courses and further education
The courses for further education of the universities of applied sciences (FH) range from post-graduate courses (NDK) of several weeks and other further education courses up to a two year post-graduate study (ND) of Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) encompassing 60 ECTS points. A total of 1000 further education courses as well as post-graduate courses are offered.
